A very warm welcome to St Gertrude’s Catholic Church, South Croydon. St Gertrude’s is a bustling community a short distance away from the busy metropolis of Croydon. The church was built in 1903 and has served the spiritual needs of countless thousands of parishioners from all over the world for more than a century and has welcomed, and will continue to welcome all, of whatever faith or none, who walk through the doors.
We are a lively and vibrant community representing a complete cross-section of the local community. Our links with people of other denominations, other Faiths, or none, are important to us – as is our involvement with the life of Croydon and beyond.
As a parish community we try to provide for the spiritual, pastoral and social needs of those living in this area. All ages are catered for and there are many activities for the young. There is an emphasis placed on adult education in the faith, in particular for those whose children are preparing for the sacraments. There is an excellent choir, masses are well attended and new and old parishioners are encouraged to participate fully in the life of the parish. Come along and see for yourselves !
